The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) is a Recognised Independent Centre of the University of Oxford. It was established in 1985 to encourage the scholarly study of Islam and the Islamic world. HRH The Prince of Wales is the Patron of the Centre.
Qur'anic Arabic:
This course helps students to learn to understand the Qur'an. However, participants must have a basic knowledge of the Arabic script. No charge is made for the course, but students are required to register.

Modern Standard Arabic:
This course, offered at three different levels to cater for individual abilities, is designed to develop students' capability in Arabic. While Arabic has many local and regional variants, modern standard Arabic serves to provide a common language that is understood throughout the Arab world.

Urdu:
These classes are open to complete beginners and to continuing students. The initial emphasis is on developing competence in the everyday spoken language. Click Here for more details.
